(주)엔세이지, 글로벌 생명과학기업 Himedia와 상호 협력 양해각서 체결, 줄기세포 배양배지 분야 협력 체계 구축

유전자가위 기반 줄기세포 치료제 기업 ㈜엔세이지(대표 이봉희)와 글로벌 생명과학기업 Himedia Laboratories Pvt. Ltd.(이하 Himedia)가 상호 협력 양해각서를 체결 했다고 밝혔다. 양사는 줄기세포 배양배지 분야를 중심으로 엔세이지의 자동 줄기세포 배양 로봇 플랫폼 HARMONi 및 질병 진단 분야의 사업 및 연구개발 협력을 추진하기로 협의했다고 밝혔다. 

(주)엔세이지는, 크리스퍼 유전자가위(CRISPR/Cas) 기술 및 줄기세포(iPS) 기술을 기반으로 한 CAR-iNK 및 CAR-T 면역세포치료제 기업으로, 자사의 독자적인 유전자가위 플랫폼을 보유하고 있으며, (주)엔세이지에 전략적 투자를 진행한 자동화 로보틱스 전문기업 에이티아이(주)와 공동 개발한 iPS 줄기세포 배양 완전 자동화 시스템인 HARMONi 플랫폼 등 탄탄한 기술을 바탕으로 연구개발을 진행하고 있는 기업이다.

협약을 체결한 Himedia는 인도에서 창업되어 미국, 유럽을 비롯한150개가 넘는 국가에 진출 해 있는 글로벌 생명과학기업이다. 특히 맞춤형 세포 배양배지 최적화 개발 분야에 높은 기술력을 보유하고 있으며, 지난 2020년 COVID19 진단 키트를 개발, 사업화 하는 등 질병 진단 분야 기술력도 인정받고 있다.

(주)엔세이지는 이번 협약을 바탕으로 줄기세포 배양배지 최적화 및 안정적 공급 체계를 구축하는 한편, Himedia의 광범위한 글로벌 유통망을 활용하여 자사의 HARMONi 플랫폼 줄기세포 배양 로봇 및 신규 개발중인 CRISPR 유전자가위 기반 진단 키트의 글로벌 마켓 진출 초석을 다지겠다는 계획이다.

Himedia Lab의 글로벌 사업 책임자(Cell Biology) Rahul Joshi 박사는 이번 협약을 성사시키는데 중요한 역할을 해왔으며, Rahul 박사는 엔세이지와 함께 단순히 CAR-T/NK 및 iPSC media를 개발하는 것이 아니라 저렴하고 확장 가능한 의료의 미래를 설계하고 있다고 언급했다. 또한 “우리의 약속은  실험실 그 이상으로 Himedia와 엔세이지는 단순한 협력자가 아니며 우리는 줄기세포 배양 플랫폼 HARMONi와 같은 혁신의 상업화를 위한 선구자이고 우리는 함께 가능성을 재정립하고 혁신적인 치료법의 시대를 열 것.” 이라 했다.

nSAGE Inc. signs a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation with Himedia, a global life science company, and establishes a cooperation system in the field of stem cell culture media

On October 26, 2023, nSAGE Inc. (CEO Bong-hee Lee), a gene scissors-based stem cell treatment company, and Himedia Laboratories Pvt., a global life science company. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Himedia) announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding for mutual cooperation. The two companies announced that they had agreed to pursue business and research and development cooperation in the field of nSAGE's automatic stem cell culture robot platform HARMONi and disease diagnosis, focusing on the field of stem cell culture media.

nSAGE is a CAR-iNK and CAR-T immune cell therapy company based on CRISPR/Cas technology and stem cell (iPS) technology, and has its own proprietary gene scissors platform. It is a company that is conducting research and development based on solid technologies such as the HARMONi platform, a fully automated iPS stem cell culture system jointly developed with ATI, a company specializing in automation robotics that has made a strategic investment in nSAGE.

Himedia, which signed the agreement, is a global life science company founded in India and operating in over 150 countries, including the United States and Europe. In particular, it possesses high technology in the field of optimized development of customized cell culture media, and is also recognized for its technology in the field of disease diagnosis, such as developing and commercializing a COVID19 diagnostic kit in 2020.

Based on this agreement, nSAGE will optimize stem cell culture media and establish a stable supply system, while utilizing Himedia's extensive global distribution network to develop its HARMONi platform stem cell culture robot and newly developed CRISPR gene scissors-based diagnostics. The plan is to lay the foundation for kits to enter the global market.
